The Zombie Book Launch is a live 7-day challenge to bring my long-dead book back to life. I got the idea because I sell an e-product called the Bestseller Launch Blueprint, and I had a ton of people ask me if it would work for existing books. The answer is yes, but some people don’t believe me, so I decided to prove it.

The book is Finish & Publish, which I wrote in 2015 to take to a local literary festival. I released the paperback edition on Amazon so I could get a box of them shipped using Prime shipping—otherwise, I was afraid I wouldn’t get them in time for the festival. (Nothing like cutting it close!)
After the festival, I never got around to promoting this book. I never even released a Kindle edition. I gave a bunch of copies to prospective clients, but that’s about it.
It’s a good book, though. I wrote it with love, with the idea that anyone who couldn’t afford to be my client could have the next-best thing. I included all the information that helped my clients most.
Over the years, some things have changed in the publishing industry—notably, CreateSpace got folded into KDP, rendering a big chunk of Chapter 5 obsolete. So I’ve updated the book and created Kindle and audiobook editions.
Starting on Halloween, I’m bringing it back from the dead! And each day, I’ll do a Facebook Live walking everyone through exactly what I’m doing, so you can follow along and use the same steps to re-launch your own book if you want to.
Whether you have a dead book you want to reanimate, you’re writing a book and want to see how to launch it successfully, or you just like seeing behind the scenes and understanding how things work, the Zombie Book Launch live challenge is for you. I hope you’ll join us!
To make it extra fun, I’m doing a giveaway with prizes! The winners will be announced on the last day of the live challenge. Good luck!
About Me

I’m Cara Stein. I help people achieve their dreams of finishing and publishing their books. I’ve been helping people publish their books since 2012, and I’ve worked on over 200 books.
- I believe the right book can change someone’s life. In fact, I know that’s true, because I’ve experienced it myself.
- I believe good books should sell. And I know they don’t sell themselves.
- I believe authors who have written good books deserve to be paid for their work—and paid well.
- I love indie publishing, and I love all the renegades and world-changers who choose it because they like controlling their own destiny.
- I’m perpetually grateful that I get to make a living creating great stuff and supporting people who are changing the world—one reader at a time.
